Police Officer in Need

Officer Eric Luders - US Capitol Police

Officer Eric Luders son, Nathan, was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia is a blood disorder in which the body's bone marrow doesn't make enough new blood cells. Nathan was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital back in September 2016 for chemotherapy and to prepare him for a bone marrow transplant. His father, Officer Luders, was determined to be a bone marrow transplant match. He went to Johns Hopkins for Bone Marrow harvest on 9/28. The harvest was successful and over 2 liters were extracted for his son. Three days later Officer Luders was admitted back into Johns Hopkins with an infection as a result of his surgery.

Nathan will remain in Johns Hopkins for the next 5 plus weeks. After that, the family will stay in Baltimore for 3 to 4 times a week for the next 4 to 5 months. The family is in need of your prayers and any donations you are able to make. Although insurance is paying most of the medical expenses, there is still a significant cost to the family. The family will also have numerous expenses between residing in Baltimore and the daily costs associated with this difficult situation.

Any help you can provide is much appreciated.  The FOP and the FOP Auxiliary has set up a Go Fund Me page for the Luders family.  It can be found on the Facebook page or by going to:  www.gofundme.com  and typing Eric Luders in the search.  You can also access it by clicking on the link below:
